Hi all

I have a software/network consulting company and would like to sell key systems. I've sold some used ones in the past. Which manufacturer is willing to deal with a smaller dealer? Avaya wanted a $100k/year commitment.

You do know that you don't have to buy from the big boys don't you. There are places that you can get new equipment for just about any system. But if you are going to install them you better have techs that know there stuff because you won't get tech support. But hey thats what we are here for.

In terms of getting good solid tech support. I sell the NEC/NITSUKO DS1000/2000 systems. They work great and the support is superb. When I call, the hold time is about 1 minute. Try to get tech support from Panasonic!!!!

The Partner Systems are simple to put in, the Magix is tricky if you are new. Good luck and welcome to the interconnect business.... Be careful there are a lot of people out there putting in systems and marking up the equipment a few bucks and providing no support. BUY REFURBISHED....

I didn't mean that you can't get tech support, the people you buy from will usually support you, I meant that you won't get it from the major companies.

getwiredbymitch,I thought you where a Toshiba man?

The biggest worry I have is warranty returns. I am fine figuring anything out on my own, but if I buy an Avaya system from a gray market dealer that disappears in 2 months, how do I handle the warranty?
Does Graybar carry Avaya systems?

Most resale houses will give you the same warranty, I've had a few go bad and got them replaced at no cost. Refurb is a different story, about only 3-6 months is all they will give you. Just be sure the cust. knows that it is refurbed. As a rule if it is in good shape it won't go bad from normal use. If you build a good relation with a resaler they will take care of you.
I don't think that Graybar sells AVAYA

Try Target Distributing in Rockville Maryland. EXCELLENT - ALWAYS HAS PRODUCTS!!!

I have had problems with Graybar. Alltel is OK, when they have the item!!

Metroline in Michigan is a good refurb house for AVAYA, also ATLANTEL in Georgia. These companyies have been around awhle. DONT BUY FROM TELQUEST in FAIRFIELD, NJ..GREY MARKET ITEMS!!!!!!!
