Since this is new I'd like to hear some reports from those who've installed them. This would be to use as a reference for customers who are leary of the X16 because of it's lack of time on the market.

Customers like them? Dislikes? Or your likes and dislikes.

I have yet to install one, but do have one to play with and my personal feelings are it works as advertised and should fit the market nitch they were designed for. Thanks in advance for the input.

Ditto, Bill.

Installed my 5th one 2 days ago. It is a inexpensive plain vilinia system. Does what is say's it will do, nothing more. The price is very inviting to small users. I tell them upfront what to expect and not expect. They love the choice of colors (woman in particular). It is a easy sell.
Easy install, no complants yet.

That's it? I was hoping for more input. I'm installing my first one soon and will report back after the customer has had a chance to use it a few weeks. Thanks.

They don't have any docs. on the web site; so I'm a little leery of try one without having prior knowledge of the system.

Not sure what type documents you're talking about. Please give more detail.

well how about something besides hang it on the wall ,plug it into an ac outlet, hand the customer the users guide, collect your money and leave.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 09/11/08 07:44 PM
All the manuals are on the site. Sounds like you have a beef with them, we have a complaint department.
Posted By: EV607797 Re: X16 like them? - 09/11/08 09:55 PM
They have all kinds of documentation if you log in as a dealer. You don't even need to be a dealer to gain access to much of their documentation. Not to mention, they will hook you up with whatever you need to know if you call them at 866-925-8312.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 10/06/08 10:14 AM
Just a report. The one I installed has been in use a little over two weeks. Customer likes it, really likes the ease of use. Only complaint is the double beep in the ear when another call is coming in and you're on the phone, but she says as she gets use to it, it bothers her less. My only complaint when installing was the wall mount, seems like they'd make the phones fit on a standard wall jack. I'm hoping to put in a few more soon.

I'd still like more input on what others feel about them.

Bill

You and I maybe the only ones installing these.
I have 8 installed now and no trouble.
Easy sell in a down economey.
The 45P is a good product also.
No 100 yet.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 10/06/08 06:55 PM
Thanks for the input. X-16 only so far, but working on it. I know were not the only ones the XBlue folks wouldn't be eating too well on what there getting from this end. laugh
Posted By: KLD Re: X16 like them? - 10/06/08 09:38 PM
One X-16 the customer loves.
Demo-ing two this week.
Two 45p ... everyone loves them.

Name recognition seems to kill the sale...if the customer has a choice they take the name brand....
Posted By: dtmf Re: X16 like them? - 10/07/08 04:54 AM
I have bid a couple of them but due to the growth limitations and name they are not selling here. Guess I will try to push it on residential businesses
Posted By: hitechcomm Re: X16 like them? - 10/07/08 01:57 PM
I'm having success revisiting customers who we've made proposals that may have been more then they wanted to spend (AVAYA). XBLUE seems to fit some budgets better.

We have two of them in. They work OK but limited in programming. First one wanted AA to answer on lines 1 and 2 but not 3 line which has CO voicemail and line 4 which is fax, can't do that.

It is great for a little pizza place that wants name and number caller ID without pushing any buttons to switch back and forth.

It is the least expensive product that has VM, if you can use it within its limited programming.

All in all, it is a nice product meant for small companies who won't expand. No cordless is a bummer but you can use a cordless bridged onto the ksu and it will show the line in use, that is nice.

Got an X16 package today and will put it through it's paces. First few minutes with it went well. I'll throw a couple out there and see what happens.
Posted By: KLD Re: X16 like them? - 10/31/08 09:44 PM
The X-16 is what it is.....some folks want it to be a Cadillac when it is really a nice basic unit. Price that against any small system at entry level with a VM and see the cost.

Good luck, Dave. The 45p and plus 100 are also nice systems with blue lights. laugh

The xblue?? Is ther any thing extra on xblue
to hook up to a T-1. or special programing?
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 11/04/08 03:15 PM
Not on the X16.

How flexible is XBlue Networks when it comes to a company just starting up trying to become a dealer?
Posted By: EV607797 Re: X16 like them? - 11/15/08 05:10 PM
At present, there is no commitment level or verification process to become a dealer. They want dealers to sign up so that they have an accurate means to communicate and to share potential leads.
Posted By: TadiranTechTexas Re: X16 like them? - 11/16/08 02:08 PM
Thanks Ed. I think I will call them next week. I am doing a lot of Contracting work for other telecom companies but I have a non-compete in place. I am currently certified at Toshiba, Tadiran, NEC 2400 and most of the voicemail systems these guys have.
I just wanted a system line for my own company I can pitch to potential customers I come across.

I have the demo kit and have used it as a temporary system when a customers partner system went down and they were real happy with it but the partners repair part was still under warranty.

Has anyone tried to reinitialize the system yet? I've done the power down wait for 1 second flashing light, flip the int back and forth 3 times thing a half a dozen times but it doesn't seem to do anything, I would like to try and get the default AA prompt back.
Posted By: KLD Re: X16 like them? - 11/16/08 06:57 PM
You might want to search other threads....justbill found a way...something about the power disconnect to dump it to factory.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 11/16/08 07:18 PM
I can't find the post, but I remember someone else that wanted to default the AA to system default, seem they had to flip the switch 4 times after the power up. If I find it I'll post back.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 11/16/08 07:42 PM
This is the post One thing I did find out when you power down do it from the outlet not from the adapter on the KSU, wait for the hearbeat than reset. Let us know the results. If the issue continues please start a new topic so we can track it better, also helps in the searches.

EDIT: Hear=Heart
Posted By: Barrontel Re: X16 like them? - 11/17/08 04:14 PM
That was me : )

I've been pulling the power from the back of the ksu but I'll give it a try the other way and see what happens.
Posted By: justbill Re: X16 like them? - 11/17/08 05:51 PM
Well I read that one real well didn't I? Let me know if you still have trouble and I'll get one out and record over the AA and see if I can default it back. Have you tried the KSU reset in system set up?

Remember some of the stuff, CID, ringing and several other things are stored in the phone, not the KSU.
Posted By: TadiranTechTexas Re: X16 like them? - 11/19/08 08:34 AM
Last night I logged into the dealer site. I downloaded the RMP software. It is exactly like the Tadiran Emerald ICE. At least it uses RMP software to program.

Same system, different phones. smile

I know how to program the Tadiran ICE fairly well, the Xblue should be a piece of cake.

I just installed my first x-16 today. Its a basic system but if all the information is given to the customer along with the price, everyone should be happy. Programming is a breeze.
Posted By: TadiranTechTexas Re: X16 like them? - 11/20/08 08:44 PM
I listened to the webcast this morning. Seems very straight forward and easy breezy to install. I can see how people would like the system especially if the programming can be done by the user. Makes the user feel they are not getting charged out the ying yang for service calls and MACs.
Posted By: JHillsmo Re: X16 like them? - 04/20/09 07:30 AM
We have installed two X16's, early last year We were there maybe two hours, 4 fones each. Have never heard from customers???? Actually called them to find out how they were doing to make certain they had not thrown out the window. They love them, do their own macs. Quick, easy way to make a few $$ and walk away.

EDIT: by justbill to remove pricing.
Posted By: Bob@tcsmn Re: X16 like them? - 04/21/09 09:59 PM
JHillsmo,

We were there maybe two hours, 4 fones each.

In that two hours, were you able to install the ksu, crossconnect the co lines and extensions, set up the phones, program the system, program the 8 phones, custom label the phones? We are scheduled to install a five phone x16 system Friday. There will be two of us on site. I will keep track of our time on site. I think we will be there more than an hour each.
Posted By: Kill Roy Re: X16 like them? - 05/03/09 09:28 PM
The Initialization switch on the X16 only initializes system parameters; it does not initialize the telephone parameters. If you want to initialize the phone book or caller ID, for example, you have to use the “Reset Phone” parameter which is found in the ”phone setup” area of programming.

I have installed a few. Extremely easy. Their Tech support is great. I have been dealing with them for years since the PCS Digital System. It is a very basic system. Great for small companies that can't afford 7 or 8 hundred for a more feature rich voicemail.
Posted By: Lynster Re: X16 like them? - 08/27/09 11:29 AM
This input is coming from an end user.....me.
I have some specific problems with the X16. I have been using this system for almost a year. Would I buy it again? Probably Not unless they made specific changes to the system.

1) Some of the phones have problems with lights not working. Different phones, different problems.

2) If you are on a specific line for an extended period of time (10 minutes or more, you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you and you must put the phone on hold and then push the line again. This happens frequently.

3) Also the nagging beep which sounds like call waiting is annoying when you have multiple incoming calls which sometimes causes you to miss what the caller is saying.

4) The handsets are not comfortable on your face if you spend a lot of time on the phone especially the ear area.

5)Sometimes it is hard to hear the caller even when the volume is turned up. Sometimes it sounds choppy and you miss some of what the caller is saying and have to repeat it back to the caller to be sure you get the correct information.

I rate these phones fair.

Why don't you start a new topic so we can try to address some of your issues?

I appreciate your comments, but some of your issues can be addresses pretty easily and should be in their own topic.

I'll bump this up to bring you a view from someone in Canuckistan clap

Already had 2 systems sold, and one out on a "Rental" basis for 3 1/2 years. I am now an XBlue dealer here in Canada.

Only one phone had a problem with line lights, as I reported in another thread. Other than that, no problems & clients seems to love them as well.

Another quote went out last week for a client that's moving in a month or so & who may be trading in her Nortel 3x8. My only concern with this one is that her staff are all French. I doubt that I can get French docs, but will call Ilsa to see. On the other hand, one of the sold systems was to a French notary for his home. Both he & his wife are French and not one complaint about language. Go figure. Maybe a non-issue.

Posted By: KLD Re: X16 like them? - 10/18/12 11:57 AM
Same here, Dave. One bad set in years. Lynster never re-posted so his issues could be addressed. Odds are he did NOT have a "real" installer to support his system.
Posted By: hitechcomm Re: X16 like them? - 10/18/12 12:20 PM
Just about the same here. Done about 25. 2 KSU's needed to be replaced and maybe 5 sets. Not bad at all.
Posted By: Bob@tcsmn Re: X16 like them? - 11/17/12 01:52 AM
I have done 7 x16 systems. No problems except with 2 phones in a deli that had liquid or other food spilled on them. I just put seels on the keypads when I reinstalled the repaired phones.
