A few issues someone may be able to help with.
1.When on night attendant when a call comes in the aa it will grab the call and half way through the night message it will kick out of the menu and start to ring ext 10.(on the ext display it briefly says dxd transfer) it happens randomly on the different trunks.
2. When patient hits "0" in day menu we want it to go back to the main menu and start to repeat it over again forcing the caller to use the aa.

#2 - Create a guest extension, say 57 (it's the highest number in the system), give it VMS cover, make its VMS cover rings 1, then in the Voice Mail, create its mailbox as the Auto Attendant, without a phone. (after you press 2 for extensions, dial 57#, 3 to assign it to an auto attendant, 1 for AA1, and 6 for no phone)

Finally, make the Day Dial 0/Timeout transfer to Ext. 57.


#1 - Are you sure it says "dxd transfer" - instead of "Voice Messaging System"? The former tells me you may be using a DXD card (or have a Partner II) and the Night Service button is actually a DXD button.

#1 yup when the call prematurely, intermittently at random transfers the call to ext10 it displays dxd transfer for about 5 seconds. i havent experienced any trouble with the day menu or sub menus.
#2. when it gets to ext 57vm how do i get it to the main day menu?
#3 when a call is directed to an extension i would like it to stay there and not go back to ext 10 as it was getting too much overflow. once again thanks for the support

On #1, what confuses me is the "dxd transfer". That should only display if you are using Direct eXtension Dialing on a Partner II, or have an ASA/DXD card installed in a Partner ACS. Does it happen with the same line each time, and if so is that line assigned as a DXD line?

#2, since when the mailbox is assigned to the auto attendant, that's what answers when 57 covers to voice mail. So if 0 is set to Ext. 57, you will get "Transferring Call", a ring, and then Auto Attendant No. 1 will answer again. You can also dial Intercom 57 from any phone and get the AA to answer, for testing internally.

#3, set your "Transfer Return Rings" to 0, and transfers will stay at the extension until answered or abandoned, unless the extension also has Voice Mail coverage, where it will cover to the MBX.

ttt thanks for the responses
On 1. no dxd card or programming. it appears that we programmed the aa for fax detection in order to send miss dialed faxes to a vm box so they wouldnt go to ext 10 on timeout. this only happened on night connection once the fax hunt group 8 was removed all is well. that was my biggest concern. thanks also to mdaniel who was also a major help in getting a handle on it.

On 2&3 I will try them over the weekend and let you how it works out.
