Hello,

The auto attendant stopped working on a Samsung OS 7200 I look after.
On arrival I dialed the SVMi-20e assigned ports and group (225-229 & 539) all display "Not Assigned", hence the VM/AA being broken.

I've checked MMC 207/601/724/806, all ports are set to VM/AA and still assigned the correct numbering/group and SVMi-20e is shown in the correct slot.

I tried both serial and LAN connection, but can not seem to connect directly with Hyper Terminal, however this has sometimes been hit and miss me for me. Laptop can ping the SVM and gets a reply.

Resetting/Rebooting did not make any difference

SGN/PGT are both green - LAN becomes green when trying to connect via LAN and LRT becomes orange. No others lights are on (other than on reboot)

I'm thinking the card may be faulty, as or system programming seems intact/unchanged, any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated smile

Thanks.

The SDN light should be red in normal operation.
The IP drivers are loaded berfore the VM application.

Sounds like your vm card is possibly stuck in backup mode.
I've seen this on a couple of SVMI20e on OS7200.

Try FTP into the card.

the SIO should be 38400 baud, 8 stop bits, 1 data bit, no parity and no flow control.

A cisco console cable will work fine to connect otherwise you'll have to make a cable with a DB9 female to RJ45 adaptor (I can provide the pinouts).

Thanks Nameless.

What should I use to FTP into the card (any recommended clients? ) and what should I do when connected?

I already have the DB9- RJ45 cable which I've made/used to connect previously to the SIO port through Hyper Terminal using those COM port settings (which wouldn't connect today)

I'm assuming this cable is the same and would work for FTP?

I think that the card is bad if it still won't respond after a reboot.I would think a reboot would take it out of backup mode if that was the problem. It is curious that the not assigned message comes up if the voicemail goes down calls should revert to 500 group by default.

You can use any ftp client.
The SIO cable is only for hyperterminal.
If you want to use FTP you will have to connect the vm and your laptop to the network.

Occasionaly the SVMI20e get stuck in backup mode.

From memory just moving it to another slot fixes the issue.

the unassigned error means the vm port extension numbers haven't been put into the bivms group

Thanks guys. Couldn't access it via FTP. Switching slots still has the same behaviour (SGN/PGT both green)

Yes, it i going straight to 500 at the moment, I double checked he programming 601 is all set correctly.

I guess I will just order another card and see if that is the problem.

In station groups is your voicemail group set to BI-VMS , VMAA is for third party voicemails with analogue extension connectivity.

Although the fact you cant connect to the vm the above wouldnt resolve this.

Thanks. Yes, the group with the SVM ports in (539) is still set to BI-VMS in MMC 601.

I also get the unassigned error when dialing the SVM ports (225-229) outside of the group.

As far as I can see no system programming has changed, AA has been working for a couple of years now, I accessed it via LAN/hyper terminal a couple of months ago to change one of the AA options.

I am trying to source another card now, as I think that must be the issue?
