Has anyone set up smdr on the SBX? I am trying to get it to work and I can't find any settings on baud rate, stop bits, etc. I am connected to a laptop using hyperterminal right now just to see if it will print what I want it to do.
Thanks Guys

I haven't done it on an SBX but, look at PGM 174 for the port settings. Then look at PGM 177 for SMDR.

I have done that, I am thinking now I may have the wrong cable.

Are you using a null modem cable or a straight-thru DB9 cable? That may be the issue. With the SBX, I've only streamed SMDR at one site, into a laptop, with a USB serial adapter. Very messy. I don't think I changed the settings as it is faily common (9600,8,N,1) or something. Many modern systems have switched to a telnet session over IP to stream the same data and eliminate that DB9 cable.

I tried a null modem cable I know (It was marked null modem) I am not sure about a straight through. I am not even attempting to use the usb to serial adapter. I know they are a nightmare. I have one laptop in use that has a built in serial connection. I have pretty much given up on it anyway because I don't think it will do what we want anyway. I was hooking it up to see if the SMDR report would include a station that accessed the door release relay. (I doubt it will)

Ensure SMDR Print enabled in PGM177, or else the port won't put out any data. Also turn on ICM SMDR Print.

If the door relay doesn't show up, you might be able to get away with setting up an SMDR account code that would catch the door relay, but I've never tried.
