We are running VMI Gateway file version 1.7.0.2 on an XP virtual machine. We are having mixes results with this service. Sometime it will e-mail the .wav file even though I have set it up to use the ffmpeg utility to convert the wav file to an MP3 file. I was wondering if this is the latest version, and if their is a version of VMI Gateway service that is compatible with Windows 7? With the support ending for XP, we would like to get all of our computers upto Windows 7. I searched the web and did not find much information about the VMI Gateway serivce. Any info would be appreciated.

The VMI Gateway has been discontinued. Very shortly you will not be able to get any technical support on the product. As a matter of fact, support may already have expired. There are no new versions to be released and the XP compatible version is the latest out there.
In my opinion, the AppSrv card running ESNA services is the least costly and most stable solution for an ECS that requires voice mail to email. The services are available as SMTP only or as full IMAP integration - depending on how much you want to spend.
Unfortunately, if you do decide to stay with the VMI Gateway, you will continue to have to poke at it when it misbehaves and keep it on the XP machine.
