December 8, 2004 this story came out about NEC and Inter-tel copped a plea to bid rigging in the E-Rate program. Which is a national program that helps schools and libraries connect to the Internet. Inter-Tel agreed to pay a total $8.71 million in criminal fines in a two-count felony charge. Inter-tel pleads quilty to fraud source: INB InternetNews.com

2004 where did you dig that up? Interesting story though after reading that article I found one in 2005 Whistleblower Suit Yields Second Major Settlement for S.F. Schools which looks like some additional fall out from it. Wow what a mess that must have been. I wonder if these have anything to do with why Steve Mihaylo is wanting back in. I also noticed NEC was involved along with some other players but wasn't mentioned too much and NEC didn't get near the fine Inter-tel got. Things that make you go humm.  Thanks for the link.

Don't remember Tom. I go to several Telecommunications publications to see what's going on, many provide links to related issues even if they are old. Kind'a like when articles refer to a link back to a story on the divestiture of the Bell System. Also I've slept since then, remember KLD and I are the mature members.
