Trying to find a speaker mount kit that has the following:
~ 6 or 8" round speaker (low wattage for muzak) that mounts inside of a fire-rated can or enclosure
~ a bracket that can be installed at rough-in to exactly locate the speaker.
if I could get pointed in the right direction on this, it would be most appreciated.
Jack

I assume this is going to be a hard ceiling? I'd take a look at Quam, Atlas, and Bogen. All make good ceiling speakers. Valcom may have something too. Normally you purchase the speaker and back can separately.

Jeff, yes, double 5/8" sheetrock ceilings. Thanks to you and Anthony for the information.

Check out atlassound.com
On the left hand side of the home screen there's a section marked "backboxes and grilles" (or something like that).
Their stuff is bulletproof. I put a few thousand in on the last big PA job I did.

Thanks Sam, I will check out Atlas as well. While we're sort of on topic, do you guys know of any fire rated access doors that do not require additional ceiling framing? Was looking at something like this: https://www.proproductssales.com/products_retail/product_info.php?cPath=24_33&products_id=137 for APs. Any tips on installing these and approx time each would be appreciated. Same ceiling as above, double 5/8" drywall, attached to furring strips that span 2 x 12" dimensional joists. Jack
