Hello all,

I'm just learning this system and the question was posed to me, "How can I check my voicemails on the road?"

I responded, "they get sent to your email, so you can check them that way."

He responded, "what if I can't get to my email, how do I call my extension and check my voicemails like at home?"

I responded, "huh. I don't know."

Anyone help me, is there a way?

Thanks,
Nik

If they have an AA greeting, once in the greeting... press # followed by their extension number.

Marc,

Thanks for the info. That worked out great.

Unfortunately, I have issue number two to deal with:

We have a phone conversation recorded (approx 45 minutes) that is not being delivered to the email box recipient.

Smaller/shorter messages are getting through no problem, but this will not send. The message is still saved on the phone, but I cannot access a digital copy in .WAV format.

We have increased the inbox receiving mail limit to about 2 gigs, but it is still not being delivered.

Any ideas where I should go next?

Thank you,

Nik

Now that you have increased the size of the attachments allowed to the mailbox, how are you re-sending the message to the mail server?

Thanks for responding:

I am resending them by entering the mailbox system and setting a "reminder" to the mailbox of its origin.

Please let me know if I have my facts about how this works wrong.

Thanks,

Nik

Nik,

I would trying forwarding the message to another mailbox and then forwarding back to the original mailbox. Just leaving a quick memo will not resend the original message. You can watch port activity if you have access to get a better understanding of what is going wrong.

I could be wrong, but I think what Nik was doing was forwarding the message to himself as a reminder. I just did that when our mail server went down. I went into my mailbox, pressed 6 to forward the message and then entered my mailbox number. The original message shows up in my mailbox and email as a reminder.

If I remember the initial limit was about 4 minutes depending pn the voicemail. With the newer version of software the limit was increased. The message was saved but not emailed. When I get back to the office I will find out the exact info.

I know that with AMIS it's less than eight minutes. The reason being shear file size. But I cant find my notes at the moment to verify the email delivery size.

With a 45 minute message I would guess at around 20 megs at the 6000 bit sample rate. But my math sucks so take it for what its worth. Your in box size may be OK but what do your upload speeds look like? Oh and is your server hosted our yours?
