We are an outpatient physical therapy practice that has been open approx 1 1/2 years and have trouble with out DCS compact phone system's voice mail. Every time it comes a thunderstorm, our voice mail goes out. Our local dealer has to come and "reset" the voice mail. We have asked numberous time on how they do this since they charge us a "fee" for their service. They tell us it is an administrative code that they cannot give us and only they can reset this. We are not happy with their services in other respects also. Is there not a code we can put in to reset our voice mail ourselves. Please help. We are a healthcare business that needs this vm for our patients to communicate after hours

I moved your post here as it was not related at all to the post you replied to.
Now ,you need to tell us what kind of voicemail system you have and we may be able to help you.

Well, the important question is, do you have a Samsung voice mail.

If the question is yes, call 1-800-876-4782 and ask for the regional manager for your city.

You are being ripped off. It is one thing to charge for valid service calls to make adds, moves and changes and that is how dealers stay in business.

It is totally unethical to keep a code secret so a customer must make emergency calls and pay for them.

There are "back doors" to Samsung systems. For instance, a dealer dies and no one knows that dealers passcode because he changed it and did not or would not tell you the code.

You send a fax to samsung on your letterhead saying you have hired a new authorized dealer to work on your system and that technician calls samsung from your site and receives a code that is good for one particular minute.

You have a default passcode. You can change that to another number. But samsung has a back door algorythm that specifies a second code that changes every minute of every day of every year.

You need an accurate watch. They tell your technician that the code will be thus and such at exactly XX:XX time. The tech uses that to open up programming on the exact minute and you change it to default and leave it there.

It will cost you a service call from another dealer, but being ripped off by anyone is unjust and needs to be stopped before the next storm.

I wish you well in your search for honest service.

Yeah do what he said, that is the first thing I would suggest.

Secondly, do you not have your voicemail on a battery backup/surge supression device? I dont see why that problem cannot be fixed.
