I have an n0616 that i want to change the line appearances on an ext xx which is an 6706x telset to an 6600e speakerphone so the customer can conference call. the question is how do i move L1-L5 which defaults as B1-B5 to a1,a2,a3,a8,a9,a10?? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a manual?

jwooten is correct, it will be difficult to do this without a manual...but:

Press the non-desired line button and press TAP (this clears the button). You'll have light status and other issues if you don't clear the original line appearance button first. Now press the desired button to be a line, then press buttons A1 - XX to assign that line. E.G., to assign line 1 to button A1, clear the default one, B1 with tap. Now press A1(desired button), then A1(referring to line 1).

Of course, the above post assumes you have entered base level programming and have selected option 50 for Non-Square System. It would be beneficial to get a manual if you don't already have one, otherwise we might be able to walk you through the procedure via PM if you have the appropriate experience.

Jwooten and Hacky thanks for the response i do have amanual and in 59 it talks about non square key programming. Part of the confusion is button appearences are different on different telsets? My customer has 6706 sets where i will be changing one to a 6714 speakerphone. Is there a way to copy station programming from one ext to another. If you can explain what manual has us doing it would be great.

Yeah that does make it a hassle Pacecomm,
Instead of going through all that different phone/different button layout cross referencing.. Just plug the 6714 model into the programming port (ext.10) ...it will then represent the ext. you're switching to a 6714. And yes, use program 59.
Go through ALL the buttons and clear them out first..(tap or recall button)(even ones you're not going to use-non-fixed)..then enter all the new programming on them.
So the programming after clearing the buttons would be pressing each button twice- A1 through A6 (A1-A6 are the top left column-top to bottom) You will then have lines 1-6.

(I'm not sure if it will matter if the 6706 is still plugged into jack your switching to the 6714 but I would make sure it's unplugged just to eliminate a problem)
