I just got an old IVS and trying to set it up. I already wiped all previous programming from it, and I'm now ready to program the whole thing from scratch. I hate the idea of doing it in CAT mode, but so far, I couldn't get my computer to talk to it.
I have a serial cable that nicely plugs into the PN-CP03 processor card, and I have Matworx installed on my computer which I have been using to maintain an IPS 2000.
But it won't connect to this IVS... I tried different baud rates, tried both ports on the proc-card, but no luck.
Any advices?

You should be able to talk to it using that cable and hyperterminal. set the sense switch on the cpu to 3 and press the reset button , that will take the system off line and fix the speed to 1200. Then you can use cm 4008>0 to set the speed as required ( 4=9600). set the sense back to 0 and you should be able to talk to it using hyperterminal at 9600

Thanks for the help. I figured it out, and programmed the whole system.
