I have installed a few of these line sharing/exclusion devices before. I know to program it, I connect my buttset up to the "voice1" port, make a call out (it needs talk power) and while off hook, you enter the 4 digit programming code.

I have to reprogram one that is located about 2 hours away from me. Does anyone know if I can do it remotely?

My thoughts are; since it is off hook when you are programing on site, will it acknowledge the tones from off site as well? Can I call in, have someone answer the phone on the "voice1" port, leave it off hook and allow me to enter programming?

It doesn't actually say in the manual whether or not this is possible, only that it is programmed through the "voice1" port.

Why don't you just have the end-user do it?

You will have to have someone at your customer site call you from the line that runs through The Stick. Once you answer on your end, you may enter programming mode. I was told that you cannot call in and program the way you have described. When I programm, I call my cell phone with my buttset from the voice port and programm with cell phone to allow caller ID.

I thought you said that your system was down...

Have you ever done one of these? Being able to distinguish between a "bip" and a "beep" is not for the faint of heart (in this case a security guard's office).

Thanks guys, I figured it should work.

You can download the manual.

In the FAQ:
Question: Can I program the STICK from a remote location?
Answer: Yes, but you must have someone at the STICK location initiate a call to you from a phone attached to the STICK. After you answer, with the caller on the line, programming codes can be entered from either location.

If they function the same as the ASAP500's did I would say yes. I think "The stick" was almost identical to the ASAP500.
