Alright, I've got a question that was raised here while we create a menu tree with MLAA. For the Menu Node, does or does not that node require an valid extension (either a single line appearance on a set or valid extension number on system somewhere) to be able to dial into?

The issue is - if we create a menu node mailbox, then does it not have a valid DN? Can we not simply dial it internally or set it as a landing point for inbound calls? Because our issue is that we can create the menu nodes and apply Dn's to it as selections, but we cannot dial the menu nodes unless we assign it to an appearance somewhere.

The way you have to look at the embedded voice mail is as a stand alone system inside the box. While in the auto attendant you can physically dial the menu node, outside has now way of knowing how to get to it without an associated DN to tell the vm where to go.

IF this is an ICP, and if you're not using the IP phones that are built in, assign them the DN of the MBox you want to to dial, and then CFA at the console to the VM pilot (usually 300).

This works for embedded Mitel Express Msgr. on ICP...
