Hello all,

I am having an issue with a T1 equipped Nortel system. To make a long story short, I am unable to enter received digits beginning with a 9. I am not sure what would interfere with that ability. The customer does currently have 9 as a destination code to reach their outside lines, would that be an issue?

As a little extra information, they only have one number that starts with a 9, and it was originally forwarded by their telco to another number that was assigned through the system. However, they have recently switched carriers and that forwarding was not copied over. After requesting for them to forward it, I was told I need to "activate" that number on the system before they are able to forward it. Thus my current predicament.

Thanks for any help.

Yes the 9 is most likely an issue. I have a Norstar that uses 6 to dial out instead of 9 so they can have some DIDs start with 9xxx

Carriers normally can bury the 9 for you so its an odd request.

i.e.

You have 9123, then they give you 8123 as well and they forward 9123 to 8123.
