Hello,
We need to test M5208 and 5316 centrex phones. The line card we need (according to the manual) is NT6X21AC SL100 Digital Line Card. Will it work on an Option 61 or Option 81 system?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
It will not work with Option series PBXs..totally different animal.
Those sets work with Centrex digital lines provided by the carrier.
You can either order a centrex line or buy a tester.
Can you tell me what the specific tester is that I need to buy?
Also, the title of my post is actually inaccurate, sorry. We aren't installing the phones, we just need to test them.
I believe we've found what we need. It's an Axis PSET Centrex Tester. Correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, thanks for your help.
Our does only diagnostic check where that one lets a tech test as usual or maybe both.
Found this too:

My employer brought in the DPL unit to test M5316s after refurbishing, and it works pretty good. it lets you test all the line indicators, displays, signalling etc. Only downside is sometimes the device stops responding and takes some tinkering to get it going again. Also tests POTs sets including simulating caller-id.
