I installed a CX Controller this week. I am
trying to program a 5324 IP Phone to use as a
sub-attendant (console). Not having any luck,
any help would be appreciated.
I got into a CX I have out there and I do not see a device type selection for a 5324 sub attendant in form 9. If you are not seeing this then you will not be able to get normal subattendant functionality out of the set.
this is from the CX tech handbook.
Note: 5304, 5312 and 5324 IP Phones require SX-200 ICP Release
4.0 UR5 or higher and 512 MB Flash or hard drive.
I was able to program it as a sub att, I'm not able to program the keys for the room status, etc.
Program the 5340 with the same COS settings as a standard h/m console. From the phone itself, press 'settings', 'programmable keys' and then navigate the page to create your "Guest Room". key.
I appreciate the info but I am using a 5324 IP
as a sub att.
As far as I know, you can't put a room status key on a 5324.
you say you were able to program it as a subattendant. How did you do that? When you went to select the device type in form 9 did it give you an option of 5324/satt?
FYI, As long as you have the proper s/w version, all of the controllers will support all of the same phones.
yes, it give the option for the 5324 sub att.
I am using this 5324 as a sub att with 2 - 48
button PKM's. I want to program it to operate
as much like a console as possible. not sure how to program the features.
The 5324 will not give you the features you're looking for. You should've gotten a 5340, if you want to emulate the 'room status' type features that a sc1000 would have.
I have a 5340. The owner wants a 5324 because of
the PKM'S. I would like to get some of the features. I need some info on programming the ip phone.
Well I looked into a CX I have and I only see satt options on 5220, 5224, 5330, and 5340. So I am confused. If it was a true subattendant device type it would give you the options on key programming to do all the things you want to do.
In other words you should get options to program keys as LDNs, Hold positions, etc. Are you getting that?
Dane, does it show 5312, 5324 at all?? Also, he wants to do room status, etc, and you can only do that from a 5340 (on a CX).
No it doesn't, but actually now I think of it the CX I have is not hospitality.
The rev level of your system just isn't high enough for the 5312's or 5324's.
4.0.5.xx will show the 5324 as an option.
okay - thanks - went and downloaded so I can use in future
