Hi,

I need to copy the button configuration of one extension to another. Is there an easy way to do this? We rec'd about 8 new phones, and I need to set them up like all our other extensions.

Thanks,

Jeff

I forgot to mention that we are on an Avaya partner system, and the phones I am hoping to clone (except extension number of course) are Partner 18D units.

I am a computer programmer, so I am not up on all the phone technical jargon. I am willing to learn though!

the copy function is limited. You are better off just programming the phones individually. Program the lines from the main console and add the features at each individual phone.

If you have a remote access card in the system or in a Partner ACS R7. You can use the Admin. programing to copy fully all button and all features from any extension except 10 and 11. Extension 10 and 11 have to be programmed seprately.

Once you are in system programming use #399 to copy settings from one extension to other extensions. This only works correctly for telephones of the same type 18D to 18D and not 34D to 18D or vice versa. Make sure all features are identical, if not you are better off to program each individual 18D with the features and line assignments you need.

We have a RAC, but I haven't quite figured it out yet. I will try it soon. This sounds like my best bet for setting up all these phones at once.

About the RAC...Is there a way to get transferred to it? Also, is there normally a default password?

If you go to Avaya's website and click support>Communication systems>Partner>ACS>believe you had a R3 choose that manual. Avaya writes their manuals in a very easy to understand language.

https://support.avaya.com/japple/cs...t=143299&temp.selectedBucket=108025.

If you cut and paste the link it will take you to the software needed for PC programming.

On the system side of things you have to do the following:
#506 hunt group 6 ext 76 assign.
#730 set remote password.
Then just follow the manual to log in to admin.
