I have 1662 in my lcr database as a local number. In other words, with my telco provider, I can dial 4 digits across our school district instead of the whole 7 digit number. Someone recently tried to dial a number with area code 662 by dialing 1662xxxxxxx. It wants to go to a local school with the phone number 1662. How do I correct this to allow the 662 area code?

How are you networked together? Sounds like something is programmed wrong.

We are networked to only 3 locations with the Tadiran. However,
the 1662 number goes to one of our schools with a different phone system that is not networked with the Tadiran. When the Tadiran sees 1662 dialed, it knows to grab an outside line and dial those 4 digits. I need to put something in LCR so it knows 662 is an area code.

Ok HOW are they doing this? Centrex, tie lines, qsig?

I would check the 1662 in the lcr to make sure it's inserting a 9 otherwise centrex will pick up 1662. You should use a library for 1662 to dial out on the centrex trunk group. Without seeing the database that is where I would start.
