I am brand new to Coral i.e. just heard it existed today. Is programming done through P.C. or Phone. Have a friend wanting me to look at it just to do some name changes.
Programming is done via PC.
Web Browser or Programming Software?
I VNC into the PC w/ xp embedded that is hosting the Coral which has a serial hyperterminal connection to the coral PBX. Most phone techs will dial in directly to the system. Coral IPX is all command line-- no web browser. Name change is under PLIS
There is a programming GUI for the Coral...no techs use it..but it does exist.
The UCX SYSTEM it's pure ip and web browser
Not entirely web browser. There are MANY things you still have to do via the PI telnet interface.
of course, but still it's easy to work with ,smaller and support U.M...
For and end user I would say yes.
I race my CLI vs your GUI any day on any of a list of tasks and see who finishes faster and has them all done correctly.
If you can get access to change a name on a digital or IP Phone type "plis 1 0 2 EXT" where EXT is the extension number you want to chage
Analog phone would be "plis 1 0 1 EXT" Careful alot of people think they are Calling "Joe at 500" because the phone tells them Joe when they dial 500 if you get an error with the plis commands. 3 places to check would be Hunt 0 EXT; BOSS 0 EXT; and LIB 0 0 EXT, These can all ring extensions and have unique names.
