Hey Guys.

I have a quick question about the ESI system.

Does ESI provide caller ID information to the analog extensions?

Nitsuko does but Samsung does not. I was just wondering how ESI stood on this?

Thanks.
Yes for all Generation 2 systems, no for any of the older ones.
For some Strange reason Samsung refuses to give caller ID for the SLI card.

The Tie communications, Nitsuko, ESI all have it but Samsung has not yet got with the program.

The idea is that you can get the same functions from an Analog extension on your phone system(which may use a T1) as you can from a regular phone line.

Anyway, thanks for the response.
I was recently working through a fax server setup on analog station ports on the GII IVX 72E and did notice a couple of additional items I thought you might be interested in:

1. The CID name message length maxes out at 15 characters.

2. Caller ID date and time stamp is the date and time the call was actually ringing at the analog extension.

3. If a station goes off-hook during or immediately after the first ring, the CID message won’t be sent.**

** Although we all know the Caller ID is sent during the silence between the first and second ring cycles, this is ALSO the case for CO calls that have been answered by the system Auto Attendant and transferred to the analog station using the automatic fax detection.
