I have a DS3 broken out into T1's. I am trying to configure one for Data and was wondering how I could extend this about 2,000 feet going thru 3 buildings to get to the final destination. Any ideas would be great.

Contrats on all the bandwidth. You will have too much signal loss to run it over wire. I would suggest a point-to-point T-1. Paradyne or Adtran should work for you. Then you can use the copper.

Are you trying to extend it from a MUX? Is your current connection to the t-1 an RJ-45?
Is a fiber run to your destination an option? If so, plug your T-1 into the router and extend your router's ethernet connection over fiber using 100 mghz fiber-to-ethernet adapters. We do it all the time, but we mainly extend a hub or a switch. Should work the same.

This is coming from a CAC "Wide Bank 28/NEBS' MUX. This is wired out to an ADC unit which provides 28 RJ-45 access ports which i currently use 13 for voice. I have no fibre to use. I talked to adtran and they suggest a carrier product which actually converts the T1 to HSDL and back. Its called a HTUC and HTUR unit and should work upto 12,000 feet on 24 gauge copper. Has anyone used one of these b4? If so does it work ok? Or any other ideas as this lists for $1,285 which includes the 2 cards, 2 housing units and 2 power supply's. Any help would be appreciated.

Use them all the time. Converts the signal to HDSL2 1.552Mbps. Full rate T1 access. Works great, very simple, and only uses a single pair. Very popular in NY from a basement MUX as riser/feed pairs are scarce. My specs are 12,000 feet on 24AWG. They will mount in any standard 400 or 200 mechanics shelf or Westell skinny (smart jack housing)

you can use fiber with fiber optic modems, break out the T to one FOM and then fiber to the next one and back to copper.
