Im curious if anyone has a SV8100 setup on a customers Network like described below.
When an IP Phone is plugged into the customers network it goes to their DHCP server and gets an IP address on the data VLAN..this IP points them to a FTP server with a config file on it. The phone downloads the config file then reboots...when it reboots it searches for DHCP in the Voice VLAN on the same DHCP server...it is assigned the correct scope of IP address and comes up.
Ive got all this working except for when the phone reboots it never gets the second IP address but times out saying DHCP server not found.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

this IP points them to a FTP server with a config file on it. Why?

Just follow the normal procedure on setting this phone up on their local voice LAN using their DHCP server.

Check that the IP helper address is configured for the Voice VLAN.
Check that IP routing between VLAN's is enabled.
Check that the Voice VLAN is configured for the trunk ports between switches.
