i'm trying to connect a 1224ex to voicemail. Does anyone know of an integration string or anything I need to expect? :bang:
That system doesn't integrate with voice mail. Sorry.
I was afriad of that. Is there a way to do Call Foward Busy No Answer?
Sorry, but no on that one too. It only offers forwarding of all calls to another station within the system.
According to a Replay voicemail manual I have it will interface with that model. Though you might have some limitations on features ..just my speculation.
I'm with Ed on this one. I just don't think the 1224ex was designed for any kind of voice mail integration.
Voice mails can always interface (in this case with SLAs)--but the Message Waiting integration may be a problem. Ring groups, CFNA, CFB---things like that may present time consuming problems. That system is solid , but IMHO, trying to put a VM on it is beyond its capabilities.
It was being installed in 1989--that's 17 years ago. I don't think it's a good project to get roped into.
Barster:
Glad that you brought that up. True, just about any analog-port voice mail system will work with just about any phone system with analog ports as long as:
A: The VM is answering as auto attendant and performs transfers in the supervised mode;
B. Calls are manually answered and transferred into mailboxes the hard way.
Message waiting lights will be an issue as JW stated.
This being said, I suppose that it's possible to put virtually any analog voice mail on the 1224ex behind SLA's, but still, it will be dirty at best.
I stand corrected in my statement that it "couldn't" be done. Technically, it can, but it sure would be a headache.
