We have three numbers that are hard forwarded in the COs to our main office number (Remote Call Forward - RCF). This has been in place with Comcast for years and at no charge. Now, we are moving away from Comcast and finding that NO other local service providers offer this. Truth is, they have no clue what we are talking about. This is yet another case of the IT crowd taking over an industry that they don't understand. But I digress...

Does anyone use or know of any service provider that will do this seemingly basic service?

Are you saying Comcast doesn't charge for the telephone numbers at all? Or just that you pay a regular line rate for the numbers and the RCF is offered for free?

Here in Western Canada, Telus will still do a remote call forward but the charge for a number/line in that mode tends to cost about $50 CAD/mo.

Maybe you could port those numbers to a VoIP provider and do the forwarding from there? Something like Callcentric or Voip.ms

Yes, Comcast was not charging for RCF services. I believe they off-loaded this to a third party, but I don't know which company it was. We have decided to go with Magic Jack for now. It's less than $40.00 per number, per year. It was the fastest way for us to accomplish the task and shop at a slower pace. If we decide to ditch MJ, the devices can be used for other purposes. I use one at my home and at my parents' house for dedicated fax lines. They work quite well.
