Couple weeks ago I was buying refurbished PCs for customer from liquidator and as bonus he gave me used sv9100 and couple NEC handsets he had laying around.
I wasn’t expecting it to work, but after couple tries of different subnets I found its IP and was able to login with WebPro and default credentials. GUI is almost identical to sl2100.
One of the phones was dt820 the rest is from sv8100 system.
KSU has cpu with Inmail, CO trunk, digital station and T1 blades in it, but doesn’t have voip board installed.
I’m not certified to work on SV9100 and have no plans to use it, just playing with it to see what’s the difference between It’s little brother sl2100.
So I configured it in similar manner as sl2100, pointed IP phone to cpu address and got a message on the screen “licenses exceeded No 5101”
Is there a way to turn on Demo mode?
If I get a digital handset will I be able to active 10 day demo as on SL series?

It was possible to reset the Demo license on SV8100 by entering some DIM command. Not sure this will work on SV9100 coz this hack was a public info and NEC could fix this backdoor long ago.
Comparing the SL2100 and SV9100 - they are pretty much the same as, i guess, share the same source code. The forthcoming SL2100 R2 is equivalent to forthcoming SV9100 R9.

Not same. The 2100 doesn’t have all the features nor size. While robust and fairly close, they aren’t the same in s lot of ways. That being said the 2100 fits smaller system needs well. I install both. Never needed to call on the 2100 for a single thing about programming. The only thing I do not like is the fact it’s not squared just a personal preference.

You partly right, but the most important thing is that if you know how to program SV9100 you automatically know how to program SL2100. And vice versa. Yet SL2100 doesn`t have CCIS.

Got a digital handset, activated all licenses for 10 days and IP phone is registered now.
Question is which licenses I need to purchase?
I’m entertaining an idea of registering the system with a dealer as an end user vs activating 10 day demo.

The system was originally registered to NEC through an authorized dealer. That is the only way to get licenses. You would need to contact an authorized NEC SV9100 dealer and fill out a dealer change request form, that will be submitted to NEC. NEC will then contact the original dealer of record to inform them of the change request. It takes around 5 days to complete. After you are registered with an NEC dealer you could then purchase licenses for the system. You would need, port licenses, one for each station + trunk port, A VoIP daughterboard + resource license, and an IP phone license. Updated software is recommended, and possibly an up to date version license, but not critical.

Do I really need IPLE daughter board for IP phones to work? I don’t have one now and IP phone did register through CPU blade. I can make intercom calls between dt400 and dt800, inbound and outbound through co trunk

The VoIP db provides the DSP's for IP to digital conversion. The IP phone will register, and you can make calls, but you may not have a talk path.

If you log in with PCPro, you can view the installed licenses by clicking on feature activation. It will also show your hardware key code which will be required to order licenses. The temporary licenses are allowing things to work right now.
I only know licenses by their feature codes, 0300 = resource/port lic, 5103 = VoIP channel, 5111 = IP phone

Looks like it’s loaded with some licenses from original owner, Installer didn’t bother changing the password, all programming is still intact. To make sure it wasn’t stolen or completely paid off, I called their main number and got a hold of the owner, they switched to hosted due to cost and some undisclosed issues with original dealer. He tried to sell the system, but ended up donating it.
He doesn’t own anything to a dealer, so it shouldn’t be a problem to switch. Before I get myself into it, I would like to get a rough idea on how much it’s going to cost me.
According to NEC licenses are not transferable, I’m thinking of getting minimum I need and if I want to try some additional features I can always turn on 10 day demo.
