I have searched the internet and visited electronics stores in search of headphones that will connect to a standard home telephone. All I have found so far are headphones that connect to cell phones and mobile phones. Online I have found office/call center phones that have connections for headphones that run into the several hundreds of dollars - well beyond my budget.

My question: are there headphones that are made to connect into a standard phone that has no port for external headphones,if no, are there inexpensive adapters that will allow headphone connections to a standard home telephone?

Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.

TIA,

Frank

I'm assuming that you mean headset since you're probably looking to talk and receive, correct? If so, there are many units available that connect simply through the existing handset jack on the phone as an in-line device. Plantronics makes the S12 which is a great entry-level unit with a decent price tag. Check it (and many others) at LINK.

Thanks for the response, Ed. Looked at the S12 and it appears to be what I have been looking for - I had previously searched the Plantronics site but found that the tech descriptions for their products were unclear regarding the connection methodology.

God forbid somebody should actually pick up the phone and call the company's tech support like in the old days. Seems everybody’s brain has turned to mush because of friggin computers and the internet.
