I would suggest then that you get one from a reputable dealer (hopefully from here on the board) who can support you and not some "Fly By Night" on-line salesman.

If you do go that route, be forewarned to keep it in YOUR shop environment so YOU can answer any questions and get all the grief when Bell comes-a-knocking.

Also take note that if the system does not conform to Canadian standards and causes any problem on the public network Bell has many powers to deal with it, and you won't have a leg to stand on. I believe that they have the power to "fine" you as well....at least they used to.

IMO, the best route to follow is to contact X-Blue. If enough of us pressure them, then they MIGHT, I say again MIGHT take the initiative to resubmit their systems for certification in Canada. I've tried for two years, so good luck.

Warranty?? sent to Canada???

If you have talked to the powers that be at xblue. Why are you still requesting it? Call the guy in Cali and let him loose his business over it. Not the good folks here!!

Interesting thread. Out of curiosity I asked my electrical inspector about the ramifications of a company installing non CSA approved anything electrical in Canada.

He said simply "if it causes a fire or any other problem that damages any other electrical equipment, 2 things will happen, the company that installed it is in trouble, and the customer's insurance will not cover the damage or loss."

For the most part this is not an issue for buying cross border - like on ebay or from USA/Canadian vendors, because the products are made for both markets (with respect to CSA/UL approval).

Without the CSA/UL sticker, you really are putting your company at risk, it's likely your company liability insurance would be voided by installing non-CSA approved equipment. A prudent question for your insurance company.

I was at one of my insurance company clients today and I fielded the question to their commercial insurance agent.

She said "as long as it has a UL-C or ULC sticker / number, the insurance company has no complaints". She also said that locally there is a guy who will do compliance testing for about 200$ (notably for people moving into the country from off continent) to gain the ULC approval sticker on their appliances and stereo equipment.

Might be something to explore in that direction.

The only sticker on the KSU has the Logo, barcode, serial number, UL listed approval and the FCC registration number. It also has the FCC compliance concerning interference reception.

Thanks!! R.B. Fishing , looks like its definitely not approved in Canada. :read: I 'm Xing Xblue. It probably would work no problem but its not worth ruining your business or the fines. Thanks again.
