I just put in a camera system provided by my customer. After making all of my connections, most of the camera's only show a white screen. You can make out a little bit of the image, but most of the screen is white. Im starting to wonder about my BNC crimps ( I switched to a new connector). Or it could be the customer provided cameras. They seemed old. Any Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

most of the time no signal is a black screen if you unplug the camera does the screen go black if yes then your cameras are either bad or the Iris is open to much saturating the picture. Do you have the proper lens for the camera? When you say old how old are they? vidicon or ccd

I think that should tell you that the auto iris is not working- it's wide open. This assumes that the iris is automatic. If it's manual you need to stop it down. What happens with low light?

Of course this could be caused by other problems with the camera but I would start there.

If you install cameras in front of the window or doors with glass and there lots of sun you would have only white stain instead of nice picture or you have what Merritte and Hal suggested.

Thanks everyone. I'll check the iris first thing in the morning. If I dim the lights the image just goes all white. Most cameras are away from windows or high light areas.

Sounds like these are vidicon cameras and the tubes were "burned" from what they were previously looking at.

I guess all cameras on each 4 port card had to be plugged in together. Once I did this they all seemed to sync up. I was testing one camera at a time, and was beggining to think my connectors or cameras were bad. Lesson learned, much time and connectors wasted. Thanks for all your help everyone.
