What I mean is what application are you using for "voice notify" ? Are you calling Cell Phones or Blackberries . The voice notification has me confused on your application . We have our AVST notifying Blackberry user . The person answers the page . Voicemail comes on and states you have 1 new voicemail message to listen to your 1 new voicemail message press x . If they have UM it also gives them the option to listen to new Emails . The AVST is vey flexible on message notification . We even have it setup where paged/notified people can press 1 digit to use our "SEAT" . smile

OBTW:

Yes, I want it to do that same thing. Using cellphones, voicemail dials "new message for...enter your security code" etc. Works great for people with local numbers, can turn it on and off as needed. It's just the long distance one we're having a problem with, and that's only because I need it to wait for dialtone after entering 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx.
Anybody else have any ideas? I would try calling AVST tech support, but they will only talk to dealers, and ours hasn't been too much help.

I have access To AVST tech support . But I don't think it is needed ! Had you fully defined your application in your first post , this would be a closed subject now ! smile Techs that are trying to help should not have to pull and pry little tidbits of info from posters . IMHO . smile

See Chad. Told you I'd hook you up. laugh

Hey Darrell, would changing the modem have been an option? I'm just wondering if Chad were to go with something like a USR Courier that would read the W command if it would solve the problem? Apparently, if I'm understanding correctly, he can put the string in, it's just not being interpreted by the outdial modem.

MAC
In this instance there is no modem involved with the AVST or Toshiba that I can see . The AVST should just be using an outdial port dialing 9+ waiting for confirmation tone and sending the PIN Code . But since I have had to drag bit by bit of info from Chad . I could be working with oranges while he is working with apples . I set up the voice notify in our 7.50 with what I think he was trying to achieve , but then I have been wrong twice on his intended application . Excuse me Chad this is not directed at you . You seem to be a very sharp person . But If I had a flat tire , I would not call AAA and say my car won't run ! Can you help ?

I see what you mean. That shows you what versions of CallXpress we still have running laugh

That makes a lot more sense. I was thinking of a totally different box. Guess that's why I tossed this one to you. Never bring a knife to a gun fight
