Ken,

Sorry to hear that you don't use the DSX-40. It was designed for the small business applications you have built your business on. We have many satisfied installers selling this product to small businesses.

Would a 4-port version of the 8SLIU card help your situation?

Bill, the stocking of the two different systems and parts is the problem. I have one (40) on the van for an installation next week. That will be either the third or fourth since they came out.

These only go to local customers with no growth potential. I still like the flexibility of the 80 over the 40 for the average user in my market.
I stock the 80 and plenty of sets and cards. One does all clap .

I am bidding two 80s this coming week, a car dealer and an out-of-town insurance office....because of the modem. Both are growth customers with several (more than 2) analog requirements.

Keep up the good work. That 4 port suggestion might be an idea......

What I really need is the ability to extension dial out of a personal voicemail box. Or at least a semblance thereof.

I could think of two things could stand to be changed:

1. Turn Caller ID on the lines by default.

2. Turn the Caller ID alert lamp off by default. Just got done with another install this week, and every customer I've installed one of these in asks to have it turned off.

3. The setup for caller ID callback seems more complicated than I would think it should be. Can't you just go to a different menu and select which digits to dial?

I have a basic database thatI upload to each system, removes the caller ID lamp, sets up caller id call back. also has different toll restriction classes all setup, timer changes etc
mostly only have to change a few things, saves a lot of time and all systems are basicly the same

Stacey,
Do you want to dial another extension or get an outside line and dial out?

Jordon,
I didn't like the way the Caller ID lamp worked as well, so we changed the operation in version 2.0. When any phone is active after a new call is logged, it will turn off the light. That way you can see that you have new Caller ID, but as soon as you use the phone (even just lifting the handset) the light will go off. This also works with group Caller ID. When any phone in the group is active, the light will go off for all other members of the group.

You know, I have tried that and I often get the message "import failed". DD, is that because the systems need to be exactly the same for an import to be successful? (We do a lot more 80's and 160's than 40's right now, though we have a few 40's on the schedule.)

Jordon,
This should work on any system. Please email with more details and I will have it checked out.

DD,

One Option I would like to see is a different Answer table for day and night option. This would help the manual overide opition.
