I guess I'll wait untill the cabinet comes in - as long as we can dial the internal extensions and - whoops - when my phone rings which phone extension will ring? I guess the software will be able to tell me hunh?

Also - will i need a 9pin serial port on my laptop? I don't have one right now but I could get a usb/serial converter...

Thanks!

Load the software on a deaktop thats in the house and use a spare cat5 drop to manage the system. The com(serial) port never get used on those, you could just leave it connected.

Let's not all answer at once now! No one at all would have any information on which pins go to the phones?!! Oh well back to the drawing board...

Two pair then skip a pair, dual(16) or single (8) stations depending on how you have it setup.

It's all in the manual, not to be rude but it sounds like you are in over your head

I will as soon as I get the phone cabinet in - UPS says it will be delivered on monday!

BTW: Would I have to have an ELA card hook up our fax machine to the cabinet? I'd like to give it a 3 digit ext. as well. and make it a menu option at the starting greeting...

No
A ELA card is for the Old Telrad Phones Analog Executive 4 button or feature sets.
You need a ONS HONS SLD or SHD to hook up the fax.

Yee Haw! It did come with a SLD card!!!

At risk of sounding like I'm getting further over my head... do you happen to know which pair to connect the analog fax/ phones up to and how many different analog extensions this card can support?!

Thanks again for all of your expertise!

I will order the software as soon as ups gets here today!

The SLD has 16 SL ports that go right in a row from the top. I hope you have a ring gen.

No, we use the old 1A2 power supplies or you can get the little unit, I think Sundance may have them, don't need them anymore as the new SL cards are built in.

I checked and they are out of them, I don't have any more of them either. Perhaps SS or someone else will chime in that does have one.

Okay, I got the cabinet today-

The memory cart had a sticker that said SBM 3.05 C

I ordered the SBM3 8/18 kit

Now -

Can anyone tell me where to find a manual that will tell me where to connect the digital phones to the ELD card?!! PLEASE!

Also the SHO card only has what looks like half or 4 of the ports saudered (instead of 8)

AND it has a ringing generator square on it.

(it also has a bright orange sticker that says WARNING on it) - thought I might stay away from that one.

I ordered a few of the centronics to 66 block adaptors They will be in 8/10/05

I would just like to test one of the black exec phones to make sure it works... the ELD card's led light is staying on and after paying $35 for access to a manuals website it appears that none (or almost none) of the manuals are for this box... [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

I will gladly pay for the manuals that tell me how to:

- Connect 3 analog phone lines to the system
- Connect the 3 Executive and 5 regular display phones to the unit
- connect the Fax machine and 2 cordless phones to the box
- 1 or 2 ports for a voice mail server (which will be in later this week)

I have the info ya'll gave me eariler but I need to know if the digital phones are 2 wire or 4 wire - which is pin 1 when upright - and G R Y B = 1 2 3 4 (pins) on eld?

Way too much information I guess but anyone that can help would be very appreciated!

Thanks

You fellows were up late last night. Geoff you received a SHD card (4 port analog with ring gen as you stated). DTMF said a SLD was a 16 port but he was thinking ONS. I also replied to your email this morning. We can get this setup and going no problem. Do you have the 66 blocks or are you terminating on a patch panel? What about the 25 pair tails?

I bought a few of these:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5794644336&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

I hope these are right.....

I'm really handy with fixing things and making things work, but What I'm looking for is the pinouts to ELD SHD and MPD, the three cards I need to connect the 3 analog lines in our house, the 2 ELD cards (or should I take 1 of these out and sell it?) for the 3 exec phones and the analog lines for the VM server and fax machine!

The Website I joined was:

https://www.tel-programmer.com/all_types_telephone_manualcenter.html

Was this not a good thing? That's what I've been studing - they have a maintnence manual which at the time I posted the eariler post thought would have the pinouts but didn't after I was done reading it....

I understand that ELD is 2 pair then skip a pair but is two pair for one phone (4wire) or 2 phones (2wire) and are those wires specific to GRYB ?

I'll probably (as soon as I can dedicate an hour to instlling it) end up paying the 66.00/h for phone support from the guy I bought the kit from, I just only have time in the late evening right now and I don't think he'll be to happy about staying up that late... [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Thanks again for all of your help!

BTW: Is the led on ELD supposed to stay on? the others don't.....

The tel-programmer has all the manuals you need for the system and admin. You are looking at the wrong one as I know they are all in there, you want the install manuals and the admin. Use the SBU5 DBU5, you will run into a few features that the older 3 doesn't have but it will get through it just fine.

Belive it or not I actually got the dag-on thing working! Without reading the entire manual - does anyone know where the external page signal out hooks up and weather or not it needs to amplified and weather or not there's a relay to turn on and off that amp if it does need to be amplified.

I think this will be the best investment for our home I've made yet!!!

Thanks! (or Cheers depending on which side of the hemisphere you're on!) [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

I think I've got everything figured out - but I can't find one last thing - is there a way to adjust the speed (or legnth) of the flash signal sent to the co trunks? It's way too short and needs to be longer....

Thanks!

Look in the system timers section of your software. It should be labeled "CO Signal Flash Time". You can also find more information on page 5-54 of the Administration Manual for system release 5.

Actually I have version 3 - but I think that did help, the exec phones have a flash sig button to press on the display and that works now but the flash button in the corner of the dial pad still is too short... Oh well, did anyone know about the volume level of the external page... does it need to be amplified?
