When I was just a pup, I had a Fujitsu Starlog with MCT's (Master Control Telephones) scattered around the building. They were white instead of charcoal and had a reversible desi with a programming template. One button was labeled "alarm" and was always lit because there were phantoms programmed into the system. I didn't know much about the system, didn't know from thresholds, and was flying it by the seat of me pants, and I would get calls all the time from users panic-ing over the alarm key. I finally solved the prob by re-labelling the key, "System normal". Worked.
