Hello.

I have a complicated question.

I'm considering buying a phone system for my house and I need several analog lines with Caller ID.

1. Phone system I'm looking at does not support CID to analog extensions but I need it.
2. Analog station cards are VERY expensive for the system
3. I would need to get a second cabinet in order to fit the Analog station cards.

I'm wondering if I can solve this problem by.

1. Bypassing the phone system and splitting the analog CO line at the source(D-mark)

I realize that the disadvantages in this setup are:

1. Analog phones can't intercom/transfer with business phones

2. Analog phones can listen in on conversation on digital phones

I think the benefits outweigh the negatives here.

I was wondering if anyone saw any problems or if this kind of stuff is normal?

Is there special equipment needed for this?

Thanks for your help.
