Ttech has a valid point. I had a DX80 that dropped calls for no apparent reason. Loop current OK, connections and programming OK, etc.

Turns out copier was on the same AC leg as the KSU. Fire up the copier and the calls would drop. Move the KSU across the office and all is well.

Ttech sure has a point. I remember DSUs & DSU IIs being VERY susceptible to static and eratic power fluctuations at times.
On one, we re-punched down all station cable on the 66 block---solved a bunch of goofy problems (was back in 93). Go figure.

I have often wondered why Comdial was so specific in their manuals when describing power requirements: dedicated 115VAC NEMA with 3rd wire ground. I suppose the dedicated part would take care of the copier / large appliance issues, but many times a dedicated circuit is impossible without having an electrician come out. A good U.P.S. / Power Conditioner should fix a power fluctuation and interference issues. I have had good successes with the APC brand.

Comdial was specific about the power because it effected stored data. You could loose all or part of your programming.
