We have a Comdial System with UM Messaging (Interchange 4.0 UM Client) installed. Upon opening messages in Outlook, ALL but 2 of my users get an error "The custom form could not be opened, Outlook will use an Outlook form instead". I have re-installed several times, making sure that Norton is turned off. We have outlook 2000 and 2003, this happens on both platforms. I have done all Microsoft updates and am at a loss as what to try next. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not positive what it is but did you match the parameters on one of the 2 that are working with the one that isn't in the UM Messaging and outlook too?

Make sure you're not running cached mode.

Thanks for your suggestion. I was not running Outlook in cache mode. I did compare settings and even registries.

My initial troubleshooting led me to believe the problem was with the forms from UM or the way they were installed. However, I was told by our vendor that was NOT the problem, the problem was with Outlook. I asked our vendor to contact Comdial and get me these forms so I could re-install. They never got me the forms and I couldn't access them on the install CD. After no other resolution and days of troubleshooting and searching for an answer, I went back to the custom forms in Outlook and decided to just delete the UM forms. I then cleared the cache in custom forms and my problem has gone away. When comparing settings, I never went into custom forms on the two machines that worked. After finding this solution, I looked at the two machines that worked and they did not have the UM forms on them. The installs were the same, but for some reason, and I have no idea why, the custom forms never loaded on those two machines.
